Instead of using wires and brackets to reposition teeth like conventional braces, Invisalign uses a series of aligner trays. These trays are made of clear acrylic and are worn over the dental arch day and night to move the teeth gently into alignment. Each tray is worn for two weeks by the patient before the next one is worn, and the entire treatment moves along the series of trays. By the end of the treatment, patients will have better alignment and can use their final tray as a retainer to wear at night and keep the teeth in their permanent positions!
